In-house fiber-optic training at Hermos AG in Eching

From April 27 to 28, 2026, EFB-Elektronik conducted a two-day, customized in-house fiber optic training course at Hermos AG in Eching, Bavaria. The program was tailored specifically to the customer’s requirements and thus differed in content from our standard workshops.

The training was led by instructor Dirk Spieß. As a long-standing partner of EFB-Elektronik, he has been sharing his expertise in our fiber optic workshops for many years, combining in-depth theory with practical insights into fiber optic technology. The focus was on the physical fundamentals and operating principles of fiber optic technology, cable and fiber types, connector types, and fiber end-face preparation, as well as cleaning, microscopy, and protective measures. Relevant standards and regulations were also covered.
In addition, participants gained practical insights into splicing techniques, installation guidelines, and the setup of a 19"-rack system. Another key focus was on measurement technology—ranging from attenuation and reflection types to OTDR measurement curves, the interpretation of events, and an overview of analysis software.

The in-house training demonstrated how effectively fiber optic knowledge can be tailored to specific customer requirements. We would like to thank Hermos AG for their trust and the professional exchange.
