EFB-Elektronik joins SPE System Alliance

Bielefeld, January 12 2021 – EFB-Elektronik GmbH, one of the leading manufacturers of network technology and industrial system solutions, has become a member of the SPE System Alliance in 2020. The international network of currently 17 leading technology companies pursues the goal of promoting the application of Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) technology and establishing uniform standards. EFB-Elektronik supplies necessary components for industrial automation in productions and buildings with products in the field of cabling and connectors. "We see SPE as the key technology for network applications of the future," says Jan Behrend, product manager in the fiber optic/copper cabling division at EFB-Elektronik.
SPE enables high-speed Ethernet data transmission over cables with only a single pair of wires. Thanks to the slimmer cabling, Ethernet communication can now be used in industrial automation in places where Ethernet cabling would previously have been too large, too expensive or too complex. Until now, the market has offered different solutions for the connecting mating faces in the respective environments. The creation of a uniform standard that can be easily integrated into existing systems is becoming increasingly urgent, according to EFB-Elektronik. Says Behrend, "This is what we want to work for with the SPE System Alliance."

Core competence in building cabling
EFB-Elektronik has been active worldwide as a manufacturer and system provider for more than 30 years. "In particular, we benefit from SPE use in building automation," says Behrend. EFB-Elektronik has a broad product portfolio and intensive experience in the field of structured building cabling. "Our customers demand high-performance communication networks that are fail-safe and economical. For the integration of single pair Ethernet, they need a market-standard connection technology that can be installed in a space-saving and uncomplicated manner."
